The coin is oval in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coin’s edge is grained.

Obverse: at the top — the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus and an inscription: РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); in the center — the relief portrait of Alexander Pushkin with the stylized image of a lyre to the left and the stylized image of a quill and a scroll to the right of it; beneath — the year of issue, the alloy standard, and denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES).

Reverse: at the top — a circumferential inscription: СКАЗКА О МЕРТВОЙ ЦАРЕВНЕ И СЕМИ БОГАТЫРЯХ (THE TALE OF THE DEAD PRINCESS AND SEVEN KNIGHTS), the title of the fairy tale; in the center — the picture with pad-printed elements depicting a scene from the fairy tale.
