The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is grained.

Obverse

in the center — the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus, beneath — the year of issue (the alloy standard on the left side of the silver coin); at the top — a circumferential inscription: РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS) and at the bottom — the denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES) on the silver coin and 1 РУБЕЛЬ (1 RUBLE) on the copper-nickel one.

Reverse

in the center — an image of the office building of JSC "JSSB Belarusbank"; at the top — the logo of JSC "JSSB Belarusbank" and an inscription: 90 ГАДОЎ (THE 90TH ANNIVERSARY); and at the bottom — an inscription: БЕЛАРУСБАНК (BELARUSBANK).
