The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The edge of the coins is grained. The surface of the coins is oxidized.

Obverse

the relief image showing the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus in the circle surrounded by the geometrical ornament; in the center — the solar sign symbolizing the rays of the sun and comprising an octagonal geometric pattern with the decorative elements; beneath — the year of issue (alloy standard shown on the silver coin); and circumferential inscriptions: at the top — РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), at the bottom — ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ (TWENTY RUBLES) on the silver coin and АД3IН РУБЕЛЬ (ONE RUBLE) on the copper-nickel coin.

Reverse

in the center — the relief image of the honeycomb, an apple tree (the silver coin is inlaid with a synthetic crystal of orange color imitating a ripe apple), and a sheaf of rye, symbols of the Savior of the Honey, Apple, and Bread Feast Days; in the left-hand and the right-hand parts — the relief elements of Belarusian national ornament; beneath — a circumferential inscription: СПАСЫ (SPASY).
