The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is plain with seven hollows.

Obverse

in the center – the relief image of a bell and the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus to the left of it; circumferential inscriptions: at the top – РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS) and at the bottom – 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES) with the year of issue and the alloy standard to the right of the denomination.

Reverse

in the center – the relief image of the Cathedral of SS Peter and Paul in St Petersburg with the spire and the dome of the Cathedral being pad-printed; at the top – a circumferential inscription: СВЯТО-ПЕТРОПАВЛОВСКИЙ СОБОР (THE CATHEDRAL OF SS PETER AND PAUL).
