The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is reeded.

Obverse

at the top – the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus; in the center, against the background of an ice rink, – the image of the Chyzhouka-Arena sports complex and beneath it – an inscription: ЧЭМПІЯНАТ СВЕТУ ПА ХАКЕІ 2014 • ЧЫЖОЎКА-АРЭНА (THE 2014 WORLD ICE HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP. CHYZHOUKA-ARENA); at the bottom – the year of issue (and the alloy standard on the silver coin); and circumferential inscriptions: at the top – РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS) and at the bottom – the denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES) on the silver coin and 1 РУБЕЛЬ (1 RUBLE) on the copper-nickel one.

Reverse

in the center, against the background of ice cover, – two ice hockey players amid a game; and at the top – the logo of the International Ice Hockey Federation and the inscription in the right side from top to bottom – 2014 Belarus.
