The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is grained.

Obverse

in the center — the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus, and circumferential inscription: РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), in the centre— the image of the small bird on the palms; below on the right— the year of issue (the alloy standard— on the silver coin), at the bottom— the denomination: 10 РУБЛЁЎ (10 RUBLES) on the silver coin and 1 РУБЕЛЬ (1 RUBLE) on the copper–nickel coin.

Reverse

in the center — the relief image of the cukoo which was the Bird of the year 2014 in Belarus, at the top — ПТУШКА ГОДА (THE BIRD OF THE YEAR) and at the bottom — ЗВЫЧАЙНАЯ ЗЯЗЮЛЯ (COMMON CUKOO).
