The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is grained.

Obverse

at the top — the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus and the circumferential inscription: РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); in the center— the front view of the building of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus; at the bottom — the denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES) on silver coins and 1 РУБЕЛЬ (1 RUBLE) on copper-nickel coins and the year of issue; on the right-hand side – the alloy standard on a silver coin.

Reverse

the depiction of a prima ballerina in the image based on the academic scenes of the classic ballet performances, against the background of her dress – dancing ballet dancers of corps de ballet; at the top the circumferential inscription in two lines: БЕЛАРУСКІ БАЛЕТ (BELARUSIAN BALLET), and to the right to the inscription – the F15 logo indicating that the coin is included in The Fabulous 15 international program.
