The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is grained.

Obverse

at the top – the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus; in the center within the internal circle – the image of the building of the central office of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus (NOC) and its logo (the silver coin is gold-plated); circumferential inscriptions: at the top – РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), beneath – the denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES) on the silver coin and 1 РУБЕЛЬ (1 RUBLE) on the copper-nickel one.

Reverse

beneath – the stylized image of a sportsman bearing a torch against the background of the stylized Olympic rings decorated by the elements of a geometric ornament (the silver coin is gold-plated); to the left – the year of issue, to the right - the alloy standard (on the silver coin).
