The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is grained.

Obverse

on the left-hand side – the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus, under it – inscriptions: denomination 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES) on the silver coin and 1 РУБЕЛЬ (1 RUBLE) on the copper-nickel one, the year of issue and alloy standard (on the silver coin); at the top right – a stylized inscription in two lines: РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); at the bottom – a composition of children’s drawings.

Reverse

in the center – the image of a boy and girl with wooden birds in the hands; at the top a circumferential inscription: СВЕТ ВАЧЫМА ДЗЯЦЕЙ (THE WORLD THROUGH CHILDREN’S EYES); at the bottom in a circle - a stylized ornamental strip.

The design of the coin uses compositions from drawings of children under 6 years old, participants and winners of the open competition of children's drawings "Children Draw Coins", held by the National Bank in the framework of the Open Day - 2014.
