The coins are round. The rim is raised on both sides of the coin. The edge of the coin (20 ROUBLES) is corrugated, on a (1000 ROUBLES) smooth surface an individual number of a coin is specified.

Obverse

within the circular geometric ornament – the relief of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus; beneath – year of issue, alloy standard; inscriptions along the rim – at the top: "РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ" (REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), at the bottom: "1000 РУБЛЁЎ" (HUNDRED ROUBLES) and "ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ" (TWENTY ROUBLES) on the each silver coin.

Reverse

inscriptions in the centre: horizontally in three lines "АЛІМПІЙСКІЯ ГУЛЬНІ 2008" (2008 Olympic Games); along the rim – "ЛЁГКАЯ АТЛЕТЫКА" (Track–and–Field Athletics); along perimeter– on ornamental background – the stylized image of running athlets.
