The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is grained.
Obverse
at the top – the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus, and a circumferential inscription: РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); in the center within the inner circle – ornamental composition in the form of a flower with four petals, on which the plants included in this series are depicted; beneath – denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES); on the left-handed side – the year of issue, on the right – alloy standard.
Reverse
in the center – the relief ornamental image of the square-stemmed St. John’s wort, on the right-handed and the left-handed sides the fragments of this plant’s stem with its distinctive features are depicted in enlarged view; circumferential inscriptions: at the top – HYPERICUM TETRAPTERUM, on the bottom – СВЯТАЯННІК ЧАТЫРОХКРЫЛЫ (SQUARE-STEMMED ST. JOHN’S WORT).
