The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is grained.
Obverse
at the top — the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus and the circumferential inscription: РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); in the center — fragment of a new building of the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Minsk, the sky over the museum building – a hologram depicting festive fireworks on the silver coin; at the bottom: on the right-hand side – the year of issue, on the left-hand side – the alloy standard (on silver coins), in the center – the denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES) on silver coins and 1 РУБЕЛЬ (1 RUBLE) on copper-nickel coins.
Reverse
in the center – the image of a blossoming cherry tree (with dark cherry stars in the center of white flowers on a silver coin), which trunk is entwined with moire ribbon of the Order of Patriotic War I Degree; at the bottom a circumferential inscription: 70 ГАДОЎ ПЕРАМОГІ (70TH ANNIVERSARY OF VICTORY).
