The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is grained.
Obverse
Obverse (silver and copper-nickel coins): at the top – the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus, a circumferential inscription: РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); under the State Coat of Arms – fragments of the image of the biathletes’ sport equipment in the form of a stylized ornament bearing the year of issue (to the left) and the alloy standard (to the right) (on the silver coin); and at the bottom in the center – the denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES) on the silver coin and 1 РУБЕЛЬ (1 RUBLE) on the copper-nickel one.
